Best thing for the Canucks is to be scheduled to play against the senators to feed off them and disguise how bad this team really is. Despite being a .500 team, they've been outshot against the fucking Sens every game. Against a better team like hebs, and leafs, that's not gonna go so well. Not to mention the road trip coming up, Jets we can't seem to beat, then Habs and leafs. Then a 4 game series against the flames lol. If the Canucks weren't scheduled to play the Sens this early, the lottery line would've never got their confidence back and the team would probably be sinking like the Sens/loloilers

The fact that Hoglander only played 10 games in NHL and already gets it more than like 90% of nhlers is promising. On the other hand, virtanen is few years in and still doesn't get it. Imagine if Hoglander had his size, speed, shot? Omg

Podkolzin will be another relentless player, I can't wait til he comes over to play.

Virtanen has driven Canucks fans crazy for years.

All the physical attributes but he is dumb as rock. Absolutely infuriating. He cant crack the top six because he just does not get it.

Man, you don't need to have insane iq like Petey or Hughes, just average. He just seems to not understand or have any common sense, like if some 5'9 kid showed me up, I'd be motivated as fuck to finishing my checks, using my body and do shit out there. Virtanen wasn't even in for this game. Hoglander basically taking the spot he's been promised for years.

I just don't get it. It's not that he has low hockey IQ - David Booth was horrible in that regard but was still a useful player before the injuries piled up. It's simply the inability to learn and put effort night in and out. It's as if Virtanen is content making a few million bucks tops and doesn't want to use his brain cells to reach his ceiling.

He's too busy being a teen with $$$$.

He's more interested going to roxy's and bieber concerts, while kids like hoglander/petey/hughes is all about hockey in their mind.
It's frustrating because Virtanen has the talent, size, skill and he struggles with the easiest part of the game where you literally need to motivate yourself and go 200% effort every night. He's fast, shoots hard, big body, can hit etc.
It would be less frustrating if he just simply didn't have the skill or speed, so he can be a bust for not being talented enough to be in the NHL.
There's really nothing Hughes and Hoglander can do about their small body, if they could practice to growing tall, im sure they'd work their asses off but that's not the case like Virt.

I think tonight's game was their best performance this season so far. Who knew with more time off, and practicing with new linemates would make so much difference?

Markstrom/Demko have poor defensive play in front of them, but they're playing damn good.
Holtby has much better defensive play in front of him, but he's performing just average.

Surprised lolflames are giving marky the lolnux D treatment, thought they'd be a lot better defensively for him

Not that surprised, Holtby has been a mediocre goalie for a few years now
