The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed 5-10, 160-lb forward Kevin Goumas from the University of New Hampshire to an Amateur Try-Out for the remainder of the season and an American Hockey League contract for the 2014-15 season, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Goumas, 22 (11/19/91), recently completed his senior year at UNH where he led the Wildcats in points (52) and assists (33) in 40 games. Throughout his four-year career, he averaged a point per-game pace with 146 points (44g-102a) in 146 games for the Wildcats.

A native of Long Beach, NY, Goumas will report to the Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms.

Replacing Lecavalier on the second line will be Tye McGinn. Michael Raffl, who had been centering the fourth line, was moved to right wing on the third line with Sean Couturier and Matt Read. The only line that remained the same was the top line of Claude Giroux between Jakub Voracek and Scott Hartnell.

i like the raffl promotion to the 3rd but really? mcginn on the 2nd line? raffl is way better then mcginn
although raffl is fast and responsible defensively hes abetter fit on the 3rd as a shutdown rlle with couts n read


although i feel the reason hes not producing as good as he was is cuz they took him offf 1sst pp unit when he got hurt ... giroux to vinny one timer was really working
now we got voracke on the point or hartsy+simmer down low ... i liked the other pp with vinny on the half boards across from g better we had better shooting options

giroux passed kessel in points too hes in 3rd in the nhl now... think he sets a new career high in goals?
career high is 28 hes @25 with 9 games to go...impressive for not getting a goal in the 1st 15 games

It was a close shootout too. Voracek coulda had a goal if he had been more pacient, it was a great game though.
