Losing 2/3 of top line... no wait, entire top line (considering burrows isnt really a 1st liner) is not a good way to win cups.

...... Tell me how much cup you guys have ...
I think it's a good thing for Vancouver if Sedin's walk away

They will not walk away.

They are just not money hungry. They got 1 big contract and so not want another. They are at an age where they do not know how good they will be 4 or 5 years down the road so they do not want to make the commitment.

How is losing your whole top line a good thing? maybe if we want a lottery pick?

ya, and I can not blame them. I hate to be a realist sometimes; but I believe the window for the Canucks to win a cup has come and gone.

Sedin's are past the prime years; I do not think we will be seeing 100 points seasons no more.....

Burrows is not a 1st liner on most other teams. He is good, but I can not see him putting up first line numbers with other players.

Kesler, despite being young, is past his prime because he keeps getting injured. His prime was in 2010 during the Nashville series; after that he has never been close to the same.

Luongo will most likely gone; which is not a bad thing, but the safety net is gone.

Our defense is not getting younger...... All of them are at there prime now or past it.

When you look at it reasonably I can not blame them for going short term; they may retire early; or attempt to pursue a cup 3 or 4 years down the line.

Window is still open, just closing fast.

Even if we don't win in the next 1-2 years, I don't think our rebuild will take as long as some others with some key pieces already in place:

Kassian
Jensen
Schroeder

Edler
Hamhuis
Garrison
Tanev

Schneider

+ any young player we get for Luongo (hopefully).

Also, guys like Hansen, Higgins and Lapierre will still be relatively young and effective in their roles.

And if they decide to trade away some of the older guys when it's apparent that a rebuild is required, it'll go even faster (ex: Kesler, Burrows, Booth, Bieksa, Sedins if they want to go).

You already lost your whole top line to father time. Sedins won't even be good next year.
