I guess we won't know til he plays in the NHL, but I think he will be fine. He's really only competing against rathbone and Benn imo.

Hoglander impresses yet again, he made a sick play for give and go with Roussel and scored a goal.

He juked the fuck out of virtanen along the boards to make a play

He assisted horvat with a goal from edler's bad turnover.

He stole the damn puck from ELIAS PETTERSSSSSONNN

He's now showing good chemistry with Hughes

I think this dude is making the team, after consecutive stand out performances in camp everyday lol

really like the play on Petey, he put tons of pressure then forced the turnover without needing to be physical. if he's not going to the banging bodies he needs to do stuff like that

yeah, that's the biggest thing why i think he will make the team. He's not like goldie, where he's useless without the puck & wants others to do the hard work for him. He is willing the engage and do the little things away from the puck as well, and he uses his small size as an advantage w/ low center of gravity. He's winning a TON of board battles. Green is literally jizzing his pants, and im sure horvat is too, cuz he finally has someone other than pearson that can win board battles with him.

Really impressed.

Would be sweet to see him crack the 2nd line.

2nd line that can play a gritty two way game and put the puck in the net.

Whats not to like?

I think he just pushed a veteran to the taxi squad/press box.

Jt Miller - Petey - boeser
Pearson - horvat - Hoglander
Motte - Sutter - macewen/eriksson
Roussel - gaudette - virtanen

Hughes - chafield/Hamonic when available
Edler - schmidt
Juolevi - myers
Benn

Looking alright, I still prefer beagle over Sutter but green probably knows sth we don't. Losing malthotra and beagle will take a huge hit on teams overall faceoff wins.

Macewen didn't really impress, still needs a lot of detail worked on to his game. He fell few times skating, lost balance trying to win board battles etc. So if green wants that safety net, it's probably Eriksson....

Virtanen came in good shape, he was fine in camp but not good enough to out perform rookie Hoglander. So unless Hoglander doesn't perform in a real nhl game, then I see him being used the same way last season for ez minutes with gaudette/Roussel.

This projection does not look too bad actually.

Starting to have some optimism now lol.

I guess it is going to boil down to how well Demko/Holtby play.

We lost our goalie who won us games despite facing 45+ shots some nights.

I love how Hoglander is 5'8/5'9 but weighs 185. With a frame like that he is going to be great in the corners and it'l be hard for the opposition to knock him off the puck.

Our bottom 6 is horrific and one injury to the blueline will destroy it.
