they cant pick the concensus #1 overall so when its like 2-5 there like man idk who to pick

Toronto, Wpg, CBJ very unlikely to consider trading their top 3 draft picks. Edmonton's pick, 4th overall is definitely in play.

Edmonton has pieces with McDavid now that if they can get an established #1 D-man they might trade the pick that would get them a D-man they'd have to develop. At least that's what I'd think they'd be looking for.

isles dont have too trade him but he did ask for a pretty legit reason i mean at some point they should honor his request

I wouldnt trade that for (personally) unless I am getting an Ekblad in return.

Now I know that pick cant get an Ekblad but Id use the pick unless it was something substantial. Hamonic not substantial enough for me (for that pick).

well i mean hamonic would be a decent base point maybe hamonic+2nd or another prospect
what team has a top d man they want to trade for a draft pick though?whos out there that might be an option?

I'd say they could be worth the pick but I personally would want something "more."

What I mean is Ekblad can change your franchise. Hamonic is good but he's not going to define a franchise.
I think the top 5 - top 10 players in this draft would be worth more in the long run

would be a good pick for a team whos strong on D and feels they cant protect them all come expansion

trade for a pick which is protected.

I dunno. interesting summer this will be with expansion in mind.

but its at the point edm wants to win now and needs D
and thers not much for d in terms of early picks its pretty much all forwards which oilers dont need

this is prob one of the better years for them to try and trade the pick but idk about bringing in a franchise type d man
most teams prob offer thier 1st+ other picks/prospect or like hamonic+ its going to be hard to get what they want and what the picks worth

Yeah nobody is giving their #1 or maybe even #2 Dman for that 4th pick.

I think the Oilers should just trade down a few spots and then trade other pieces for guys like Hamonic and Brodin.
