Damn.. so my buddy living in Boston said that his Co worker died from the virus, but he also got his entire family infected with it. All hospitalized. He was 40yrs old, director position. Made good money, breadwinner of family etc. The 2 teens have to still go to college.

Since the whole family is hospitalized they're left with 100k+ debt. This is with his health insurance too. The virus literally destroyed this family, even if the 2 teens and mom survives Idk if I'd call it surviving.

My friend said it's better to be below poverty than be an average income citizen cuz ur extremely fucked. If ur making below 30k, there's at least medicaid available, but if ur making 40 to 80k, then ur just straight up fucked. Murica be like either be 30k or 300k guy. Trump also wants everyone back to work by Easter I think murica broke some record for most infected and death in a single day. Feelsbadman

Vouch, i make ~60k/yr, and i have problems with my health care all the damn time.
Right now nobody knows what to do with people in the middle like myself, however i will admit it all started with obamacare and state subsidized health care systems like covered california.
Overnight i went from having health insurance to being kicked off and forced into medi-cal and then being kicked off medi-cal because i made too much, and even though ive gotten it all straightened away for now i still run into problems if i make more or less than expected each year.
If i make more, they force me onto a more expensive plan, and if i make less then they kick my kids off and force them onto medi-cal, and then if i make more again the next year i have to spend an entire day on the phone with them to let me put the kids back onto the better plan.
Its a 10000% nightmare. Its gotten a little better since trumps new healthcare bill, but some of the problems that started with obamacare still linger.

yeah my neighbour got back from florida 2 days ago ive seen him leave his house 3 times already and break quarantine
he didnt even have a mask on when i saw him unless he put it on after his gf had a mask+gloves on when she was driving so idk

shitty to have to even be thinking about that though live in a tiny city we got ourt first confirmed case on a no frills worker from his snowbird parents so likely community spread from that
now i got a neighbor who might be potentially spreading it ... starting to freak out it went from no where near me to right on my doorstep real fast

yeah shit just doesn't work there. most people get their health insurance from work, and unemployment will explode sooner than later. hospitals will ration on the basis of $$ and insurance coverage rather than need so you'll 100% see a lot more people die. it's also why a lot of people don't support quarentine - if they stay home and lose their jobs, they're 100% fucked if something happens. lack of safety net means means everyone is just trying to outswim the tsunami, but getting in the way of others and making things worse.

For sure, the payout probably depends on how much he wanted to pay monthly and the term. Seems like a 250k payout for a healthy 30yr old is about 40-50/mo there.
