after you've been watching the team for awhile you'll know how to pick up on maneurisms or just the overall build of the player.
thats how it is for me anyways.

For instance i could pick probably any red wing out without looking at his number, but most of the time i cant tell players apart on other teams aside from the more popular ones.
Like i can pick out marchand, bergeron, but i couldnt tell you the difference between DeBrusk and Heinen lol.
