1,487,500 thats whats hes making this year with bonuses?if thats the case like i said offer him 1.5 per season if he dont take it bye bye

He is easily worth 2.5 mill
His agent is just trying to use the KHL as leverage to get more money out of Burke
He has the two-way game that the Leafs need and Burke loves

Cox is a moron. Last night before the Leafs game he said Gunnarsson was amazing because he is a +11 on a team with a horrible +/-
This doesn't reflect his defensive abilities (I do think he is a good player) but he joined half-way through the season when the horrible losing streak was over and he has only played like half of the season
+/- is a poor indicator of talent, he should know that by now

The game is about more than offense and he brings around 15+ goals a season along with a two-way game needed for the Leafs

Still, says Leafs GM Brian Burke, searching out college free agents will still be an important part of recruiting even as the crop gets thinner.

“Certainly last year's crop of free agents got more attention than this year's group,” said Burke, who has an interest in 6-foot-5 defenceman Brayden Irwin of Vermont. “It's a good way to add players. Look at the way Bozak is playing now znd the great thing is that most of them are capped.”

The latter reference is to the NHL's salary cap. The new collective agreement also introduced the salary cap and with it an entry-level system of salary limits for players in their first three years. Teams can offer more bonus money to college free agents, but there are limits to that as well.

There is no consensus No. 1 prize in this year's crop. The San Jose Sharks have already signed Princeton forward Cam MacIntyre. Others considered to be of interest are forwards Jarod Palmer (Miami of Ohio), Casey Wellman (Massachusetts-Amherst), Bobby Butler (New Hampshire) and Sebastien Stalberg (Vermont), the younger brother of Leafs rookie Viktor.
