You guys are arguing over a subjective question. He asked which was better, not which had more academy awards
The term 'better' is relative. Furthermore, the basis of our discussion is intangible.
There are things you can quantify: Dollars, weight, distance
There are things you can't quantify: Emotion, justice, faith
We cannot conclude that one movie is better than the other because we are gauging emotion and opinion
If we were gauging it's box office success, then we could easily decide which is better
All we are able to conclude is that the majority of this part of the forum think that the movie is better, but that in itself does not translate to the movie being better. What makes it better or worse is a matter of opinion, and that will never be tangible
Tl;dr: Something can only be objectively better than something else if it is tangible and objective
