My post on another blog. but this is how i feel about this season.
I feel like its time to post.
The last thing this fan base needs is a 9th place finish; and statistically speaking the preds have 12.9% chance of making the playoffs before tonights game and the odds go down to 9.9% if we lose. ( Source

Now my personally is to NEVER want to lose. But thats exactly why i’m posting, we need a long term winning strategy, not just one that relies on a flakey team to run the table to make the playoffs ONE year.
One way to keep the fan base in one piece is to trade off some of the older guys with some value and put out a group of young men + our core who DO want to win… and sometimes they will, but not enough to ruin our top 10 draft pick. Trade bait, for example, would include goose (If anyone can stand that contract.) Kostytsin for a bag of pucks or even blum who is still making some “rookie mistakes”
Let hannan and Mason walk in the off season.
Now some people fear the Edmonton Oiler effect where the team expects to lose year after year, However, unlike Edmonton, the Youth of Nashville have already experieced winning, not only in the regular season but some success in the playoffs as well. The mindset in the locker room for the preds isnt “Long term rebuild and a coaching carosel.” It’s one of stable leadership and player development. One bad season (Which is almost over mind you) wont totally ruin that, especially if the locker room has some new faces next year replacing the fillers or under performers.
So cut off whatever dead wieght we can, put the youth on the ice who WANT to win and make a career for themselves, let them develop now. Because I for one would much rather watch a bunch of guys my age play hard, make some fun plays and lose. Than watch a bunch of roster fillers play some half assed hockey and still lose.
