Interesting thought.....

I enjoy your posts that show player comparisons.

Not much of a numbers guy but I am starting to learn all these advanced statistics.

All of the vitals check out.

Will be watching him closely this SCF.

How long has it been said we need a strong, defensively reliable d-man who can play vs the teams best opposition.... Would be niece to get that kind of addition to the team.

I think so, like 5M for 7 years to lockdown a young solid top 4 defenseman is well worth a late 1st + 3rd. enough money to give Tampa trouble matching but not enough to make him overpaid either

If Cernak agrees to a 7yr deal for only 5m that seems like a steal, but he plays with Hedman and McDonagh too. Most RFA's sign for around 4m-4.5m similar to his type. Although, i think he'd want more if he's signing til he's 30yrs old on a different team, unless tampa tells him they'll try their best to keep him over sergachev or something

I also think more teams would try offer sheet sergachev over cernak

Thanks to Hughes, I think the Canucks are in more pursuit of Cernak like players than Sergachev, unlike most other teams

It's weird, most of time the Canucks were in need of Offensive type dman, like Erhcoff instead the Canucks had bunch of Jovo/Edler/Salo's with solid defensive guys like Hamhuis, Mitchell, Tanev etc. Now that Hughes is here, all of sudden the Canucks need a lot of edler/tanev like players lol

omg Alex pAngelo is available, too bad the Canucks cant afford him thanks to Eriksson & Ferland sitting on the bench not even playing :(

Cybulski] Talked to an NHL scout who suggested the Canucks should shift their focus on Braden Holtby. Points to what will likely be a more cap friendly AAV, and bringing Stanley Cup experience would prove to be invaluable for a young team trying to win.

lmao well boys i guess we are going to be regressing next season if holtby is replacing markstrom.

Benning playing 4d chess, goign for higher pick to draft luke hughes eh

his .89% will turn into .7% with canucks atrocious defense

Trade both Demko and Marky, then sign Holtby. Primo asset management

I hope this has zero truth/consideration to it for the reasons you mentioned.

Holtby cant withstand facing close to 50 shots many nights and still pick up the W haha.

Letting Markstrom go for nothing would be so damn stupid.

We're going to have to lose someone... Tanev or Toffoli or Markstrom.

It's just what happens when you decide to spend like 20% of the cap on foundational 4th liners and buyout candidates.

This Holtby talk is terrifying. I don't want anything to do with him
