kovalchuk had sick hands but he's just lazy at other aspects occasionally like a lot of giveaways - a lot like ovechkin

kinda happy he's not here anymore - even tho he was an insta point in the shoot out; if we get brunner, it's nbd

but Parise, Kovalchuk were the 1-2 punch in the shootout.. ugh without either now nor Clarkson, idk who'd even go in the shootout.. Henrique/Elias/Jagr/Ryder/Clowe / Brunner? (no particular order)

Kovalchuk lazy? He is a fantastic two way player and plays more per game than most defensemen.

yes he was well overplayed but he had a lot of 'errors'
