Anyone here ever train in any martial arts?

Wife and I thinking about starting BJJ but we have zero experience of any kind and are hesitant since it's such a new thing.
Also seems like an unnecessary risk of ripping my ACL in half .

Can anyone speak to that?

I did about a year of BJJ. Just go in the beginner classes and you should be fine.

Because I didn't like it. I learned enough to be able to competently defend myself but I had no interest in pursuing it any further. Once you get to a point it's basically the same moves over and over and you're just trying to perfect them.

Don't sell yourself short, you did more than a year of BJ classes imho
