By next year's deadline goalies will have pretty much 0 value, there will be plenty of good ones on the market due to the flat cap and the expansion draft. Andersen, Allen, Binnington, Grubauer and Mrazek are all UFAs in 2021 and most of them will walk. Then you have teams like us with two good goalies who have to get rid of one of them.

Idk what it will look like, but Seattle might also have plenty of goalies to choose from aside demko/markstrom. If benning trades 1 of them at alow value, that means Seattle would just pick a better player that isn't a goalie. Then we lose a goalie and a roster player lol. I think benning should let it happen as is, since it's inevitable like all other teams instead of overthinking it too much and help Seattle while crippling your own team as Anaheim and other teams helped Vegas do. It's a good thing the team isn't as shitty as it was 3yrs ago, which forced Vegas to take sbisa & it that costed them the cup lmao.

I think we'll be able to protect everyone worth anything anyways. Assuming best-case scenario where Toffoli is the only one we end up letting walk, and we try re-signing Pearson and Edler after the expansion draft:

Miller
Petey
Bo
Boeser
Gaudette
Motte
Virtanen

Tanev
Stetcher
Juolevi (if he even plays a full season)

Outside of these guys and Edler/Pearson who are 2021 UFAs, and assuming we trade either goalie, we will honestly not have anyone worth our while to retain. McEwen will be their pick if he plays out next season lol. And if we miraculously retain Toffoli idgaf if Virtanen gets picked.

[Gaffar] A summary of Canucks UFA/RFA statuses according to the Benning media availability

Lots to digest from Benning avails.
25 - dont believe they’re close. Earned right and should test open market.
73 - VAN wants to keep him. Near top on priority list.
8 - Wants to stay. Could be a shorter term deal.
64 - he’s coming back.
18 - writing on the wall.

Benning on @tsn1040: 'Leivo is feeling good. If team had made the finals, Leivo felt he would have been ready to play. He'll be ready for next season'

Well boys.

My 10+ minute tirade shouting off the balcony following the Canucks loss has put me in some hot water.

Received numerous complaints due to a "loud argument" outside.

Well.... That was just me yelling at the top of my lungs in an incoherent manner to myself.

I did not find it prudent to relay this information back to the strata council.... I feel that would make me look even further unhinged lol.

Good thing there is no Canucks hockey for awhile and with Covid there will be no more large gatherings.

Don't feel like eating fines and further aggravating the neighbors so I guess I have to settle down for awhile.

He is supposed to play a full season but that is a big if.

That will be the final nail in the coffin.

I am out of place in this building.

Majority are older people or families.

There is only a couple units in the building (out of around 30) that are around my age and they don't seem to be the beer drinking, hockey game watching types.

Strata living honestly drives me absolutely fucking nuts....

Trivial rules, strata fees, numerous restrictions and so forth...

That being said for most living in the lower mainland it is the only thing that fits the budget so you have to deal with it.

Can't even have a window AC in my strata without the approval because they don't want things in windows. It would make our house look too different. They have to approve the design first.

Can't plant anything in my own garden either, only potted plants. Fuck strats
