Quinn Hughes was battling knee and ankle injuries during the Vegas series. He was getting treatment 3 times a day.

this kid is truly a fucking beast.
despite his strongest attribute being hindered with injuries, he still manage to make huge impact and have most pts among all rookies

Makes me like him even more.

Gotta lock him up long term when we get the chance.

i cant wait for podkolzin to join the team, he's literally the type of player the Canucks lack.
tediuous, hard to play against, and wins board battles np
i could care less if he doesnt turn out to be top 6 player, he will definitely be a bottom 6 roster player.

although him with horvat would make an awesome duo imo

Except virtanen didn't really use his body to fight board battles, he was more of speed down and shoot type of guy.

Lost but this run can still be seen as a positive. Not many expected the Canucks to go as far as they did; gained a lot of a valuable experience.

Got spanked in this series though, we probably deserved 1 win at best lol.

More like 0, they got outplayed in every single game lmao
Shows how insane markstrom and demko are, stealing 3 fucking games with the atrocious defense. Demko showed up and could've stole game 7, too bad the team in front couldn't help him out though. If boeser scored that goal and didn't get robbed, it would've been a whole different outcome. =(

So Virtanen can file for arbitration.

He scored 18 goals last year so I would imagine he would be awarded a fairly high salary if that is the route he takes.

I really like the guy but I don't think he has the hockey IQ to fit into the top 6 and his play away from the puck leaves something to be desired.

Wondering if he is signed and traded? His days could be numbered.

He's probably gone, benning even admitted today that he was expecting more from him in playoffs. If he could be a sweetener to get rid of Eriksson, then that would be nice. Sucks losing a 40pt+ player, but he needs a wake up call. Maybe being traded away from his hometown will wake him up... Too bad it will be on a different team if he does.

McEwen and podkolzin can replace his void over time. I have high hopes for podkolzin, he's the type of player that is useful without the puck and is very tedious, making him annoying and tough to play against. Also what the canucks need and the type of player green loves

It's clear Virtanen isn't in the coach's good books. If they intend to keep Green around, which I assume they do, Virtanen might be out.

Probably sucks that we will have to sell him for what he is now instead of what he could be.

I think his hockey IQ is just sub par.... While his work ethic is not the best I think his lack of hockey IQ is often seen as a lack of effort, when in fact he is just not that bright lol.

You cant fix that....

I want him to be given another opportunity elsewhere as well because he cant crack the top six in Vancouver. I feel he just does not have technical aspects of the game down well enough to be that guy even though so many other tools are there.

Saw a clip of Podkolzin scoring his first goal of the season today. He looks great and is beyond annoying to play against. If his skill level does not propel him into a top six slot I can live with that because it is looking like he is going to be one of the most hated players in the league at some point.

He never stops hounding the opposition.
