Goal 1 for the nucks scored due to too many men penalty

Goal 2 had our 2 defenders fight over it and neither took it

How will goal 3 go in? Allen fall over? Blues shoot it in their own net?

Edler and stecher got destroyed on 5v5.

30 to 9 shots for the blues when they were on the ice... That's like 3 to 1 ratio and ice tilted towards markstrom lol

Not a good sign, need to either hope stecher does better or maybe even benn step up..

Fatenberg and benn were pretty damn good, the problem was edler/stecher pairing on the back end.

Also idk why green is experimenting so much, like trying to play injured beagle against Ror line to free up Petey and Bo line.. That's being greedy as hell.

yeah Stetcher was abused all night long, I now regret some of the things I've said about Myers in the past.

/e as I noted in the playoffs thread our bottom 6's scrubiness is really hurting too. no goals at all from them, only 1 assist so far. Sutter has looked better (well more like baseline) but otherwise, adding Eriksson half our forwards have been complete blackholes with the puck.

well that's why you don't talk shit during a playoff series. lots of frustrated fans right now, but a bubble team wasn't going to steamroll the defending champions.

For sure, I think green got too scared about losing myers, and the team changed their playstyle back to the good ol dump and chase when no Canuck could successfully carry the puck in the past. However, our young core and speedy team isn't built for that style anymore, clearly the blues are superior at 5v5,and it shows from losing almost all board battles. Way better off going with what worked in game 1 and 2, despite losing myers I think green should try carry pucks in. I rather the Canuck have few successful attempts with the risk of puck going the other way than dump and chase only to lose it anyway. Doesn't help the refs are calling boarding against the Canucks while letting it go for the blues, I don't see the point in the team continuing to play that style, it's only a matter of time another player gets injured if they aren't playing through injuries already. It definitely isn't a good look when the Canucks seem more sluggish than the blues.

Gaudette should be inserted back in so there's a threat on 3rd line, instead of heavily relying on the top 6 only to produce. He also helps pp2 somewhat have a chance to be a threat as well.

Edler Stecher have been horrid.

And Boeser needs to show up if we want a chance. Not sure why they have him standing beside the net doing nothing on the PP

If we could also get Toffoli back and gear the 3rd line towards offense we could just try running and gunning then deploy the 4th line for defense as much as possible.

As for the defense, it's hard to say what we can do. Methinks Green has stuck with the Edler-Stetcher pairing because there aren't any good alternatives. Hughes-Tanev has to stay because of their effectiveness and AFAIK neither Edler nor Fantenberg have played right-side much. The only other move there is, is to play Stetcher with Fantenberg and shelter them as much as possible. Benn is pretty slow but along with Edler he might be fine against the relentless checking. It's kinda why I hope Green goes all-in towards generating offense; even if the Blues get more breaks is a result it's better to trade high-quality chances than get inevitably grinded out of the game.

Getting Toffoli back would be immensely huge, assuming he isn't rushed and completely healthy. Boeser has been a non factor despite quietly putting up points. I suspect that he's playing with an injury again because in game 2 or 3, he didn't play much in the 1st period. He definitely isn't the same player as he was against Minnesota. Getting Toffoli back would put boeser in pp2 which helps our pp too. Since our games rely heavily on powerplay.

Reason I keep eriksson is to shelter gaudette, during 5v5 and allows more pk option. Plus virtanen seems like his mentality isn't there, & doesn't realize it's fucking playoffs, I wish he put in as much effort as others.

I left out Roussel because he's like an undisciplined Jannik Hansen and a penalty-taking machine. I'd rather have Eriksson being harmless than Roussel being a net negative. I don't think much of Virtanen but if the team gets to run and gun I think he can do fine. But if Roussel is in his spot it's not the end of the world, it's like deciding which grease-soaked meat you'll order at the Chinese takeout.

Kinda wonder how different it woulda been if tryamkin were to sign and play.. Sure he isn't top 4 material by any means, but the reach, size, and the skating for thr big boy sounds so awesome instead of stecher doing his best out there yet frustrated cuz of unfortunate size genes. Ripp

Benning said he Wil stop signing through FA cuz he feels his drafted prospects are stacked and it's time for them to shine eventually. However, I feel the backend is still lack luster. Like who the fuck are gonna replace tanev and edler lol
