Anyone ever tried or know anyone who does Amazon FBA for some extra cash?

I've been looking in to it a lot.

Trying to find any way to not work for the man for a living.
Sitting in gray walled offices where everyone's a robot and then I wake up and I'm 65...

You search for items that sell well on Amazon using third party tools.
You set up supplier relationship with suppliers in US or China or whatever.
You get a few samples sent to your house for quality check.
You get entire product lot shipped to amazon.
Amazon auto fulfills the orders when product sells.
Profit.

You can also self fulfill for more money but amazon makes it more of a passing venture.

I mean there's definitely work involved. Gotta find the right products that suit your needs (sell-ability, quality, support).
Like I don't want to be in the hook for 500 returns and customer support. So I won't be selling laptops. More along the lines of plant pots and marshmallow sticks.
That may sound silly but I watched a guy do this.

so you find a product that sells well .. so say your marshmellow stick.

you look into stores such as wal mart? (example)

and you basically use amazon to fil your order for % of the profit

am i right?

There are people to do that way.
They go to liquidation centers , dollar stores, extreme couponing even and resell on Amazon for profit.

This is more along the lines of what's called private labeling. If you Google or YouTube FBA private labeling you will get endless results.

You set up a supplier relationship with say the company that makes Rubbermaid . You buy their molds without Rubbermaid stamp on them and sell.
However Rubbermaid is a bad example because it's such a strong brand. As for my previous example, no one knows or cares who the f makes a peat pot flower pot.
