Team just isn't good enough.

All year we were a bad team that turned out to be average because of stellar goaltending. Markstrom might be able to make ridiculous save after ridiculous save but he can't score goals.

Our better players showed some flashes but as a whole, the team's inability to penetrate a playoff calibre defense is why this won't go well. Pettersson got a good first taste of what it's like to be a star player in the playoffs.

I have faith in guys like EP, Boeser and Hughes as playoff performers going forward but this may not be the year, especially because they don't have much help. Horvat was invisible and you just can't have that from your leader.

it's a given this team isn't very good. bottom 6 sucks, blue line depth is nonexistent, team only knows how to run and gun.

not even like we can bring a guy like Trotz and coach this team into something else, Benning has a thing for low hockey IQ and over-the-hill players.

This team was barely good enough, and it looked like they were gonna miss the playoffs before the season suspension. The reason they got so far is because of markstrom playing like a God, I swear he probably leads the league in most stolen wins and danger saves or someshit, with combination of successful powerplay, though most of it is skewed from preds. Canucks powerplay is either best in the league or just straight trash, super inconsistent. Seeing as how Hughes is making drop passes for the sake of the shit system, I am triggered by it lol.

On a bright note, the Canucks managed to also hold Minnesota down on their strength of 5v5. It's just thst the Canucks can't get powerplays to make it count and they can't seem to connect simple passes or complete execution. Hopefully they get it together or it will be another false hope of 1oa, probably going to get a 12th pick or something. Askarov please

I am legit serious about eriksson and virtanen being back in the lineup, it worked before the season suspension. eriksson fucks his advanced Stat but it makes the team better and his empty net special is too good. Virtanen makes Roussel and gaudette line more relevant, ferland may be the better player at his best but he doesn't gel with the other 2 as much as virtanen did. The 3rd line was far worse than the 4th line, and 4th line shelters the 3rd thst itself should warrant Jake back in the lineup to see if he can bring back some of the chemistry.

this game perfectly encapsulates why this team will probably be a flash in the pan. our top 6 tried so fucking hard, and they almost got fucked by the overpaid vets towards the end. 5 more years of Tyler Myers getting dusted and taking penalties left and right. fuck.

also doesn't matter how many bazillion shots Sutter and Beagle block if they're the reason they're having to block the shots to begin with. I guess Beagle can win draws like few others but seriously, Sutter needs to go play Fortnite with Laine. props to green for at least recognizing Ferland is doneso.

need -sutter -ferland +toffoli +gaudette or Green is fucking stupid. I'd also strongly consider -Myers but idk who can draw in and not suck. too much risk putting Rafferty or Juolevi (who would be on his wrong side) I think. only reasons Myers even stays is because he shoots right. fuck Benning.

Toffoli & gaudette is injured/unfit to play, not scratched.

Gaudette was getting caved worse than beagle/shutters line in game 1,and that's with his line being sheltered by 4th. I'm glad they put eriksson back in, he may not have the scoring touch anymore but he does shit right and just somehow buffs horvat even if stats don't show it rofl.

Beagle and Motte are monsters, they spent like 7min on the pk tonight and the team didn't allow any ppg tonight. Beagle and horvat both destroyed on the dot, they're insane. That's beagles back 2 back 70%+ on the dot.

Ferland and Roussel played minimal minutes, I think it was the right call. I'd love to see rousell reunited with virtanen and gaudette. Just not sure if gaudette can handle it. Virtanen only played like 8min, but he brought energy and broke up a breakaway with his speed back checking. I didn't expect him to score any cuz he played with Sutter.

I didn't expect myers to look good, cuz it's a hit or miss with fatenberg, I think green should just risk it and play stecher with fatenberg again and put edler back with Myers. Although I think he played with edler as the game went on, I think myers need to learn that he plays for the Canucks now and the refs will call all those cross checking thst would normally be OK in playoffs in other jerseys jajaja
