Subban is not getting traded. Cut it out.

And no he would not go for a couple of very good/good players and picks. If he ever did go not in a contract year it would be for a world class player at the least.

Friedman: #LAKings "keep Gaborik out until the playoffs, I bet, and do what Chicago did w/ Patrick Kane last year."

Hossa will likely be kept on the IR until the playoffs, too.

Opens up space for both teams to add.

*There's no cap limit in the playoffs

I believe if the NHL thinks players are intentionally being held out of the line up they can request that the player go and see an NHL approved doctor to confirm. I recall the Flames had to do it a few years back with someone who was injured. Let me google maybe I can find more info about this.

Friedman is doing an AMA on reddit. Some notes:

Re MTL: Sell, sell, sell. To me, biggest question is if someone makes a pitch for a player like Galchenyuk. MON won't do it unless it gets someone with term back. A comparatively-aged player, if you will.

Re VAN: Vrbata for sure. You can tell he wants to go. Hamhuis, if he wants to go. There are probably a ton of people telling him to go, because it makes business sense for him. The interesting one for me is Hansen. Teams are willing to pay a bit more for term. But, at some point, you have to have good pros on your roster, especially around young players.

Re WPG/TOR: I do think we will get one bombshell no one sees coming. I wonder about Jacob Trouba. I also wonder about Nazem Kadri.

Re CGY: Last I checked, they were still talking. But I think it's more likely than not he gets dealt. Reported last week CAL was hoping to get a long-term possibility in goal, but that might be hard for a rental.

Re EDM: Purcell depending on what happens with Ladd. Schultz (was talking with TB). Korpikoski I hear is out there. Maybe Hendricks. Not sure about RNH. Was told Eberle not going. Let's see how much of that is actually right.

Re Drouin: I think it's very possible Drouin gets dealt.
STL has always been lurking. OTT. WIN. MIN, but there wasn't a match. Told also not a match with NASH. Would be shocked if it was MON. Probably others, but not sure. NJ could be a dark horse.

Re Ladd: More likely than not. He's an impact player, and he will be motivated to play for his next contract. Gary Lawless reported they were offered a first-rounder, and he knows his Jets.

Re Eriksson: Heard a rumour last week Eriksson to NYR for Kreider, but that was shot down as ridiculous. Also heard ANA, but not sure Ducks want to do anything now that things are going well. This is a tough one for me, because it makes sense for BOS to keep and use cap space to get into playoffs.

Anaheim has room to move a good young defenseman for a nice scoring winger back, I would think they will make a splash. Hopefully they can manage to pass LA here down the stretch
