I've been enjoying every game on Fox Sport Southwest and the one against the Flyers I had watched on the NBC Sports Network. 6-1-0 record and they play the Panthers tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to watching that game than any college football game which is a rarity for me. Anti Niemi was a great addition and has been beasting in net. Patrick Sharp's veteran leadership is showing. He's always around the puck and making quick, accurate passes.

Kari Lehtonen will be in net against the Panthers tomorrow night.
They can have a reliable, well rested goaltender at any time. It's a luxury to have.

They just seem so much deeper than they have been in a long time. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin look unstoppable most of the time, and Jason Spezza is in the best shape he's ever been in his career. We'll see if they can keep it up. If they stay healthy and keep playing hard I don't see why they can't accomplish what they want to. Obviously their main goal is to win the Stanley Cup. At the very least they should make the playoffs and go pretty far.

Knock on wood but they look like the best Dallas Stars team since they last played in two straight Stanley Cup Finals (1999 and 2000).

But I'm just watching the games and enjoying what I see. No reason to set any unreasonable expectations. When you start doing that it becomes less exciting and you end up feeling let down. It's a long season and we've seen them get off to hot starts before only to fade away the final few months and miss the playoffs.

Although their depth this season is as good as any in franchise history so I don't expect too much of a drop off late in the season like in recent years. They can score goals in bunches also have young defensivemen that play with high energy and passion. That blends in well with two good goaltenders.

Rankings mean nothing this early in the season but they're 3rd in goals per game, 10th in goals allowed.
More importantly a 7-1-0 record if they can win tomorrow night. Just keep grinding away and playing hard.

I may make the 3.5 hour trip to Dallas and catch a game this season. If I can find reasonable ticket prices. It's been a long time since I've been to an NHL game. 2004 Stars vs. Avs game was the last one I had attended. I had gone to many Houston Aeros games (AHL) before they relocated the team in 2013.

I still feel like I'm just a casual hockey fan. I'd probably be hardcore if Houston had an NHL team.
The best I can do is watch every Dallas Stars game on TV. Maybe attend a game or two soon.

Do you enjoy the 3-on-3 overtime? It's almost undair for the Dallas Stars.
Too much speed, skill and Jamie Benn. They'll probably win most OT games.

If you played 3-on-3 all the time I'm not sure the Dallas Stars would lose a game. Benn and Seguin is pure magic.

8-2-0 record. 16 points already. Only two bad games against the Avs and Panthers (lost 6-3 and 6-2).

I hope they can keep it going. They're pretty consistent and exciting to watch. A bad game every few weeks will happen.

I'm not as a big a fan as I thought it would be. It's too chaotic.
