Hey guys I live in Canada I'm not "supposed" to have a gun that would fit in a safe. That would be illegal and I "wouldn't" do such a thing

More like someone breaking in my house to steal something. If someone was watching the house they would have seen two cars leaving and assumed it was all the occupants of the house.

cops need a warrent to search a safe anyways
and if you got a big enough one you can put a safe in a safe

Whether or not I need to post a sign that the property is under surveillance. NJ. Cameras inside and outside warehouse. Warehouse and parking lot are private property. There are no signs that say no trespassing. The landlord has a camera above his door (conjoined building) but no signs posted. Not sure if I need to put one up.

Ah. Requirements are gonna be state law, from a general rule though I'd post a sign. Covers your ass liability-wise in case someone wants to file a grievance. I'd be surprised if a court would rule that there's a reasonable expectation of privacy in the parking lot, probably not in the warehouse either. As far as I know there's no precedent on the federal scale as to a requirement of signage.

I've been able to find that indoors basically counts as one party consent for NJ. Just can't nail down the law for outside. You're probably right in that it's better to just do it - I'm just being too lazy to make the effort to hang it up. Thanks.

I would be shocked if you have any issue with outside. It's private property but there's no argument for a reasonable expectation of privacy in a parking lot.

That's the feeling I got from digging around earlier today, but I wanted to be a little more confident I was interpreting the legalese correctly.
