better to be a little paranoid than get murdered

Or he could have shot someone he knows, which is more likely to happen than someone breaking into his home to murder him

#1 biggest cause of gun related deaths is the presence of a gun.
Thank you CNN.

Did I overreact? I wake up this morning, I know for a fact I'm the only one in the house. When I get out of the shower, I hear the side door opening. I proceed to go into my room, open the closet, an unlock a safe where I have some "survival items" (Let's leave it at that). Then I proceed to systematically check every room in the house. I found nothing.

nope, I personally have no issue with that.

I taught my lady how to shoot for that specific reason. some one comes into my house unwelcome, they are going to get put down. I will teach my children how to shoot also, and how to be responsible but the guns will be locked in the safe.

hmmm a good compromise would be to have a gun with no bullets in it

A good compromise would be to be a loner shut-in so nobody you shoot can be somebody you know

Hey guys I live in Canada I'm not "supposed" to have a gun that would fit in a safe. That would be illegal and I "wouldn't" do such a thing

More like someone breaking in my house to steal something. If someone was watching the house they would have seen two cars leaving and assumed it was all the occupants of the house.
