I imagine there's a system in place where the person who gives up the dog cant adopt the same dog back (likely they cant adopt any dog for a period of time because they recently gave one up).

I've already sunk 3G into him. And may have to sink another 3G into him for an operation that may be only 50-60% success rate?

Time to make a smart critical decision instead of an emotionally charged one. How many times am I gonna spend thousands of dollars before deciding enough is enough.
