he's under 35 so even if he retires, it wont matter for the team, but he will not be paid. So I highly doubt ferland wants to retire, cuz this was pretty much his last payday contract. I can o ly seeing him retiring through ltir

He will be set for life so long as he can keep his health in tact.
The team is doing well right now, led by exceptional goaltending, so I this is not as big of a blow as I would have first thought when he got injured.
