just gonna add, the current situation is maddening. our young stars are tired or injured. OK, it happens. this is what we have the veterans for... of wait, they're complete passengers despite bagging more cash than the actual good players on the roster.

I don't even expect the likes of Erikkson or Roussel or Beagle to play up to their cap hit. just play like they're actually using up what's in the tank. they already have their paychecks, go skate the extra stride. Is it Green failing for motivating the big cap hits, or Benning for acquiring them in the first place?

well this sums up every game petey and young stars endure, all that crosscheck to his back, he won't have a back by the time he turns 22
boeser's career seems over, his once deadly wrist is gone already, i really hope it gets to 100% but as we've seen this entire year, his shot was never the same as his rookie season after the injury.

can't play hockey? just goon it up! cuz lolnucks won't do shit, if i knew lolnucks wasn't gonna win the game, i'd at least make a statement by going after the other teams stars too. That's what this joke league is about lol

if only we drafted Tkachuk instead of Virtanen maybe players would think twice before abusing our stars

Having him wouldn't change a thing though, anyone to put on the lolnucks uniform turns soft immediately. Guddy, Kassian, Dorsett, Prust etc.
Tkachuk lost a lot of respect around the league and by exNHL'ers when he refused to fight Kassian after targetting him numerous times throughout the game. He built himself a bad rep around the league, so he fought him the next game and got rekt. I don't think other teams are afraid him or intimidated by him in anyway, they treat him like another burrows/marchand love him ur team, hate him on another team guy.

also having him would mean no petey, hughes, etc.

I'm going to try to avoid speculating as far as injuries go... Not easy but I will wait for the dust to settle.

All I want is the playoffs. Hopefully it happens.

Second wish is for the league to show some consistency on what a penalty is and do a better job of protecting the young stars - Not just for the Canucks but the league as whole. The NHL won't be much fun to watch if these guys all retire early or have their skills diminished due to constant goonery.

Sadly would not be surprised if neither came true.

A lot of contracts make no sense.

The touted 'rebuild' was never a true rebuild from the start.

If it was you don't sign those older depth players even if they can play effectively on a team with limited depth.

Instead you keep open as much cap space as possible, acquire young prospects/picks and allow opportunity for players to crack the team.

If the team is underpowered and fails that is fine, because those young guys in those roles are gaining experience and improving.

Instead we sign players who make us an alright team but there is no way we get to the top with them or that philosophy.

I don't even dislike Beagle, Roussle, or Eriksson - But I hate their shit contracts. There was no sense to add them when we are supposedly rebuilding.

basically how I feel too. Benning's tenure has all about been trying to find shortcuts to rebuilding. even though the drafting has been OK we've pissed so many picks and gotten into too many bad contracts. if we were in the East his ass would be cooked.
