Yeah to me unless some new found love for Colorado appears in the next two years enough to make him take less than the 6.5m matching this was dumb.

unless he puts up 100 points between now and then, none. He'll turn into a UFA and I highly doubt he would want to go back there (and vice versa)

i think its jsut the first year of the deal not 1 year exactly

Arbitration allows a 85% of last year (QO) so

85% of 6.5 5.525

Which is pretty reasonable if he keeps progressing or even levels off at 60ish points.
