We are going to get shafted by this....

Most likely forced to trade Markstrom or Demko because they will be taken.

Other teams will no this and put us over a barrel so the return will be much less than it would be under normal circumstance.

At the least the Rangers are in a similar situation, however I think our goalies look more appealing than theirs.



In a way I would not mind seeing it happen. Imagine Demko and Markstrom going head to head. Could create the fuel needed for an instant rivalry.

That being said of course we are going to be hurt by the expansion draft.

I should add there is a bit of history with the Canucks and goalies in the expansion draft:

In 1993 the Rangers traded John Vanbiesbrouck to the Canucks due to the fact they could only protect one goalie in the upcoming expansion draft.

Anaheim and Florida would enter the league that year.

Vancouver opted to expose Vanbiesbrouck in order to protect Kirk Mclean.

The Panthers would go to the cup finals 2 years later, in large part due to the stellar play of 'Beezer'.

The Canucks, as we know would play the rangers the next seasons, With Doug Lidster hoisting the stanley cup as a member of the Rangers after being traded for the rights to Vanbiesbrouck. Naturally they went with Mike Richter.

they will probably take both, rangers and from canucks, since they need to draft 3 goalies.

Wonder how long ep will last before Injury due to unpenalized late hits. I missed most of the game. Hopefully they bounce back against min.

he lasts pretty good, he's a canuck. It's now in his blood to get used to this stuff. Virtanen went after Grzelcyk throughout the entire game after that hit, got him back with a late hit himself and more hits afterwards. Basically Grzelcyk wasn't having a great time.

I cant even blame the players. The league has no clue wtf they are doing.

It is botch city out there with the calls. The Canucks get shafted often, but they are not the only ones.

Even at the end of the game Beagle was mugged in front of the net after contact with Rask. Give him two minutes, sure, but how can there be no call against the defender? Thankfully the game was over at the point and it had no impact.
