When you hit the FA market you better be ready to overpay.

I don't think he is a terrible defenseman. His contract is pretty bad though.

He has some good qualities about him:

- He jumps in on the rush at opportune times to add to the offense.

- He is pretty good at finding a way to get shots through to the net when there is bodies in front.

- His skating is quite fluid for a guy his size.

Then you have the negatives:

- He loses battles in the corners to smaller players frequently. This trait is what I hate the most about him by far.

- He makes poor decisions on when to pinch at times.

- He can not be relied upon to shut down the oppositions top players (at least in my opinion).

When you weigh all of those things together you have a half decent defenceman.

You don't have 6 million a year on a 5 year contract with trade restrictions though. Not even close.

That is the free agent market though. This is not uncommon. You get a decent player that you have to overpay for when you go that route.

I can't wait for tryamkin to join the Canucks in the next couple months, rather see him than fatenberg. I hope the Canucks make him feel more welcome and try to include him with the gang, especially without Goldie around

Is he coming back? He'd be a godsend over Benn or Fantenberg.

it seemed more than likely, but that was when goldie was still on the team. Idk if tryamkin will change his mind now that goldie isn't with the canucks.
I think he will still come over, just don't know if he will stick around.

Jake Virtanen's response to Mathieu Perreault's complaint about Tuesday's unpenalized elbow: "He’s a good player; I have nothing bad to say about him. I honestly didn’t even mean to do that. He can be frustrated. I mean, I think anyone would kind of be frustrated."

Damn hes all grown up, he's playing so well recently. I hope he keeps it up! I had a feeling he would reach his prime/peak when he turns 26yrs old, it seems to be trending that way if he continues to play like he is now.

Did horvat cause this?! Canucks core is young, but they're all mature for their age. At least more mature than Sutter and his balls imo.

Remember how green and virt had an agreement before season started and virt failed, so he was with ahl group at training camp the first 2 days?

Would be absolutely massive if he could be a 2nd liner instead of the 3rd liner most of us assumed he'd settle into. Especially because of his style of play, he could be an X factor type of player in the playoffs.

Fuckin rekttttttt

Could've been a dangerous hit, especially that knee. Good thing Hughes is an elite skater and have crazy awareness on ice to doj his attempt. Hall took an arrow to his knee.

He works really hard to get all those empty net goals/points LOL

We all know his salary is shit but I actually think he has made Bo Horvat better since moving to that line.

It allows him to not focus on defense as much.
