This is the beginning of something very special in Montreal.
Not only is Weber the better player through and through, hes the better person, team mate, role model, and most importantly hes a winner.
Being a winner is tough, Subbans biggest flaw in fact. He never put the team above himself.
With Weber you will potentially have a new captain and have the team flock together instead of dividing one another from each other.
oh sure, not like Weber decided to force the Preds team by signing an offer sheet by the Flyers forcing them to pay him, or make him leave. ?
winner? You mean winning two gold medals? he has never been past the 2nd round. Subban has been part of twice in ECF finals.
Never put the team above himself? If anything, he was the only one showing effort,emotion throughout the entire Habs season debacle compared to Casperretty who was so invisible and dull, youd think he was being controlled by a chip by Bargainbin
Please, have you even watched Shea Weber? This is not Weber of 2010; he has shown to be declining throughout the playoffs. Sure he is a superstar, but he is 31years old, Subban is 27. One contract ends at the age of 40, other at 33.
This is a stupid trade; and the team flocking together? I am sorry, the coach Therrien was all responsible for that entire debacle. Overplaying grinders on PP/top 6, changing lines, throwing players under the bus, Bargainbin going to the locker-room 6 times, making that stupid press conference in middle of said debacle;
Its easier to deflect blame, like to blame it on Subban. If anything, Subban showed more passion in one game than Therrien ever did as a coach.
Remember, the players are being coached by a guy who say to them: GRIND DEEZ GUYS. WE NEED TO GRIND DEM OUT.
Called out his best player for making a mistake against Colorado(omg PK LOST DA PUCK, UR BENCHED) when it was 3/3 and Colorado scored the goal after a huge defensive structure mistake ? (I wonder who would that be blamed on...Subban losing the puck, or the coach?)
If Tom Brady were to make an interception late in 4rth Q, other team scores, do you fucking bench him for making a mistake?
Thats the Coach the Habs have.
Thats the GM that has never helped the top 6,(besides Vanek for 20 games and floated throughout the playoffs), brought bunch of grinders, keep an horrible coach;
Bargainbin and Therrien are much more the problem than Subban ever was. Trading him for Weber will not rule out the root of the habs problem: They still have Therrien as HC, Bargainbin cannot get top 6 players(still 2 huge gaping holes) and him being such a draft oriented guy/patience, it sure seems like an idiot move to trade away your 27years old D for a 31years old D. Your cup window is even more closed now in terms of years of prime D you could get out of your superstar; Subban 27, Weber 31.
Does anyone here actually believe Bargainbin can make the Habs team a SC winner in 3-4years?
