San Jose's John Scott will have a hearing this afternoon for leaving the players' bench on a legal line change to start an altercation.

From what I saw, it looked like an actual line change despite him going right after Jackman

Looked legal to me too. If that was anyone but a tough guy, there would be no hearing.

You can still get suspended for leaving on an actual change to start a fight.

If you make no attempt to play the puck and just beeline straight for a fight, it's suspendable. Scott usually takes the faceoff before fighting, at least.

Maatta is going to be out for a while. Supposed to play next few games, but is having neck surgery for a tumor that is possibly thyroid cancer.

Coach called for a line change. What's Scott gonna do, say "no coach I don't want to do what you're paying me half a million to do?" Penalize McLellan. Or hell, penalize Doug Wilson for signing him.

Everyone knows Scott's a dangler and a sniper anyway. His talents are wasted in fights.
