By shitty refing do you mean you didn’t get a single 5-3?

As in Oilers were waterskiing all over the ice like a dead puck era team and were called for none of it.

it's a pathetic way, but what can ya do when NHL league can't hire/develop/train competent refs?

Overall a good game.

Horvat goal could have went either way.

Not quite in the "distinct kicking motion" category but I would say he did more than just angle his leg/skate.

Usually plays that close to the line get called back. I would say we got lucky on that one.

That being said the Canucks played well.

Quality chances against were limited and they did not take that many penalties.

Now the 3 game loss has been erased and if we keep pushing the Playoffs could once again be in the cards.

I really don't get it.....

Usually that kind of goal is disallowed.

So much inconsistency. The same goes with headshots/hits from behind.

Honestly I have no clue and I don't think the players do either. How can you play within the rules or have an idea what to expect when there is no clear picture painted?

Canucks played well. Hit 2 posts in a hard fought game. Chalk it up as the hockey gods smiling upon us.

A reverse script of some of our losses. We were made to run around a lot, but putting away the good chances was what actually mattered. Nice to see the team pouncing when we had opportunities but on the other hand the Kings shouldn't have been able to control the game like they did. And it wasn't even like they were super punishing physically, sure they forechecked hard but they had so many entries and passing gone uncontested. A team that plays like the Kings did but shows a bit more skill would've destroyed us.

Kings had 50 shots..... Way too much to give up. Especially vs a weaker opponent. Markstrom stood tall and got us the win. I agree that the Kings hustled with intensity but you have to match that. Like you said if this was not the Kings we would have lost. Effort needs to be there.

The Virtanen goal made me smile. This is what he needs to keep doing if he wants to be successful. He is fast and strong. If he keeps barging in like that we could see him putting up 20+ goals. He is on pace for a record year.

That passing play on the Petey goal was really slick as well. That top like is building up the chemistry.

Virtanen's clearly playing like a coached player, his movements are by the book and you kinda know what he'll every time he's on the ice. But it's a lot better than earlier in the year when he was always chasing the play. Some hope still.
