Game over. Devils win 3-0. 26 saves for Schneider in the shutout. He's stopped all 48 shots he's faced over 5 periods in preseason.

Elias was impressed with Brunner. "He's a good player. He's a smart player. You can see that right away."

DeBoer on Brunner: “He made a couple of great plays tonight. He’s got instant speed and it creates a lot of offense, backs teams off. I’ve been impressed with him.”

They were decently cheap too. Buddies wanted a $100 cap and I just happened to catch $103 for 8th row off the corner.

devils got a steal with schneider kinda wish the flyers made some moves to get him

we'll see how the tandem of emery/mason does, im hesitant to predict what will happen but i lean more towards a number 1 goalie with a solid backup, and not a duo of goalies idk just me

Janssen put on waivers. Good sport but not very good at any aspect of hockey including fighting which is all he did. No place for a player like that on this roster anyway even if a lot of players got injured.

And then there were 25..

Forwards:

Clowe
Henrique
Jagr
Ryder
Zubrus

Carter
Bernier

Tedenby
Gionta

Defensemen:

Pretty well rounded roster. Better than I gave credit for at least.

Still really lacking a stud in any department but what can you expect with kovy leaving unexpectedly.
They need to strike while the iron is hot somehow or else they could get stuck in that awkward identity crisis stage.

If brodeur and schneider turn in to halak elliot of two years ago, NJ could dark horse.

Devils won their three cups without star power. Well rounded team > team with two star lines and two weak lines like pens imo

Compared to other top players on other teams in the league lol.. those guys don't come close except maybe Brodeur. Sure Stevens and Nieds were great, but there were A LOT of HOF'ers on other teams. They weren't really 'star players' during 95/00/03.
