not even surprised. outside of the powerplay we were basically killing a period-long penalty 5v5

it's coach firing season so might as well get rid of Green. way too many systemic, pathetic displays

So you can cross the blue line with both skates before the puck does with control and it’s fine? I personally don’t know the rule.

^ yes lol, textbook example:

green has no idea what he's doing

/e honestly done watching this team for now. bottom 5 blueline, yet another coach with no system or ability to manage a game, albatross contracts that will make us lose talent soon. maybe I'll catch a game irl when scalpers are cutting their losses and selling tickets for $20 a pop

According to the rulebook, a player is determined to be offsides if both of their skates completely cross the blue line before the puck. Seems like that’s exactly what happens there so I don’t understand :(

Note 2: A player actually propelling the puck who shall
cross the line ahead of the puck, shall not be considered
off-side, providing he is actually in possession and
control of the puck with one skate in the neutral zone
before crossing the blue line

He had both skates in the offensive zone before the puck crossed the blue line therefore the play should of been an easy offside call upon review. But let’s get real it’s the pens. /end crying homerism.

Yes, if the player has control of the puck he can effectively skate in backwards and it is okay.
However if he does not have control of the puck (ie, puck was passed to him, or he didnt have control) and his skates cross first he is offside.

Similar effort against Philadelphia. This time they just ran into two goalies who played very poorly.

Yes there were some nice shots that resulted in goals but nobody in their right mind can tell me the Canucks deserved 6 goals on such a low shot total.

They got handed a gift with that 6-3 lead in the third they never deserved and still managed to find a way to lose.

Every team has injuries. The Penguins played without Sidney Crosby, among others as well. No excuses in this loss.

You cant sugar coat a collapse and you can not hide the fact this team often struggles to contain the other teams best players. You have to call it what it is and move on.

I hate how this team plays scared when they have the lead in the third. It just invites bad things to happen.

Green is just throwing shit at a dart board hoping it sticks at this point....

I thought it was a good goal and was surprised there was a challenge. Unless it is blatant you have to figure it will count. Officiating did not cost us this game. Shit play and useless coaching did.

Raffi Torres was a really fun player to watch. Gave it everything he had every shift. Something the Canucks should be looking at right now.

I am so frustrated right now as well. I will keep watching though. The Canucks always dangle that carrot in front of you. You see the talent they have and it looks so close to coming together some nights only to be followed up by utter shit hockey.

our top 6 is talented and we have a good goalie tandem. but we have way too much dead money tied in the bottom 6 to properly fix the blueline. and our organizational depth is nonexistent. this is years of shit scouting, shit trades and shit contracts stacking up. Benning's best trade was undoing his own Gudbranson fuckup.

worst yet, the heat is purely on Green. yes he's not a good coach as a whole, but then again the roster is poorly built. even Trotz would struggle to get us anywhere once a defenseman or two went down.

like i said,
i hate our team having a lead because Green turns it into a PK unit for absolute no reason til the other team catches up
Shows how bad this team is when you don't have Beagle/Sutter winning faceoffs and playing the hard minutes.
