Ottawa Senators defenseman Jared Cowen hasn't been anything more than a towering spectator through the first three games of the their opening-round series with the Montreal Canadiens.

And he's not necessarily convinced that should change.

"Fifty-fifty," Cowen told reporters when asked of his desire to enter the series. "I haven't played a game in forever, so I think it's almost pretty hard to get back in there and feel good about coming back in at this point."

Though fans tend to appreciate honesty, Cowen's readiness to withdraw from the series probably won't endear himself to many fans.

The Senators, down three-love in the series, are certainly in need a jolt, but probably won't receive it from their imposing blue liner. He last played March 29, just his fifth start in the month.
