You can also have an opinion on which you like more, which is not necessarily saying it is better or not. This is basing your judgement off a single criterion, entertainment.
An example used in this thread of this is colours. You can choose red or blue, they are based on your enjoyment of the colour.

Of course you cannot prove this. If it was a universal truth it would have to be better in every single category every single time.
It is not, because on category is entertainment value, which is purely subjective.

Sure, you could prefer to use the equipment from 1910, but that's based on your personal preference, not basing it on the integrity of the equipment itself.
