I got a pic of two identical rare armours that dropped right beside each other when I was farming act 1. They are terrible, but the point is it is possible to have 2 of the exact same item, either buy a glitch like what happened to me, or by ridiculous coincidence of like 00000000000000000000000000000000.1%. But with how many people play the game, it is not impossible by any stretch.
Also most so called 'duped' items were bought from a vendor like 100x then put on the ah. If it is a blue item you can buy as many as you want. Not sure how many with rares that spawn from special npcs occasionally. I have not played ina while but have yet to see guaranteed proof that duping is happening.

That's a glitch and ya it's been proven, I think there's a glitch to craft the exact item twice in a row too. But the ah dupe was never confirmed, and if it did happen it just seems like more people would talk about it/show off all their gold.
The gems being cheaper than actual crafting cost is very suspicious, there most likely is a dupe method out that has been around for awhile its just showing up now through gen pricing.
