its the ram that worries me about the one tbh ... their usage seems pretty out of whack for a gaming console
even if the cloud processing does as much as everybody says.. i think the ram would sort of bottleneck it


your right the exclusives that sony has shown so far arent better
but then go compare the 360s vs the ps3 exclusive ...microsoft hasnt exactly kept up the current gen what makes you think they are going to do so much better next gen?
and like i said before ... what if you dont have the internet? lot of good cloud processing will do... can you even play games that might be developed to use that with out it?maybe thats y they had the 24 hour online check in

as of now, that puts xbone ahead

It's not as simple as 8gb ddr3 vs 8gb ddr5. Xbone also has eSRAM which supposedly picks up the slack. Anandtech posted an article that estimated xbone at about 170 gb/s and ps4 has stated 176 gb/s.

Won't pretend to be an expert but it sounds like the eSRAM will handle the smaller processes because it scales better, then the DDR3 will not be very taxed. For PS4 it's all placed on the DDR5. That + cloud for background processes that don't need real time reaction could definitely push xbone ahead.

Ps4 has a better attitude towards devs though and that's why I think they're going to come out ahead, plus the atrocious handling of PR. In practice I think you'll see little to no difference in hardware performance, xbone just puts more burden on the developer which act like barriers to entry. Lots of studios may go ps4 exclusive with the divide in level of effort to make a game.

Tbh, they are not that far apart. I think most people will purchase based on preference/exclusives at this point. The difference in hardware power is minimal that I doubt it will completely influence someone's purchase.

no doubt sony has been developer friendly from the start the ps3 was hard to program for and they had to kiss some ass but they did it and got a solid line up of exclusives not just recycled titles with a new # and always have from the ps1 to the ps3 and most likely the ps4

the fact microsoft has had to change everything they have changed to even feel they can compete with the ps4 should speak for itself sony gave us what we wanted from the start we didnt have to bitch for this and that to be changed
the only reason microsoft had bad media coverage and PR is becasue it was taking so much heat in the first place its not what people wanted becasue microsoft isnt for the gamers like sony is

Fact of the matter is we have no idea which console will have better games. For every halo 4 there is a god of war 4. I will be getting ps4 because it will have a better indie game base and I *think* the easier development will mean better and more exclusives. Could be wrong though, both will have large fan bases and you know ubisoft, EA, most big names will be cross console.

Again, you get more than straight gaming with xbone. It's more family oriented imo than PS4 is. But look at the state of gaming on day one of lastgen vs today. Either way, the difference is going to be huge and unpredictable as the consoles age.
