I would have loui float than goldie cuz he's still elite pk and plays better 2 way game than goldie at this point.
If Benning didn't sign miller/ferland, then yeha I'd rather have goldie float with Petey too. I rather not see him float bottom 6 minutes.
Also I wonder if it will effect tryamkin if goldie gets claimed or goes down to ahl, away from Vancouver. His BFF won't be there gggg

problem with keeping Louie there is that it really handcuffs the roster if we happen to do well and look to add a rental or make a big trade to push for the playoffs. he's very frustrating in that he does the little things very well, but just can't score or drive play meaningfully. he's a role player taking star cap.

on the other hand there's no harm in Goldobin being a 12th-13th forward when you have tim fucking schaller ahead of him either. like, i get the idea that Louie is the better player but he's not remotely close to being 5.1M in cap hit better.

it does come back to the issue of not being able to trade Louie in the first place but with nearly all of the salary out of the way Benning honestly should've found a way to dump him without giving up too much.

Trading for Miller and signing Ferland put some players out of a job.

Overall the team is improved but some players have suffered because of it.

Eriksson still being around really drives me nuts. A 4th liner making 6 million... What a disaster.

Goldobin is probably better off to start in the AHL. He can't play meaningful hockey as a 4th liner. He is not capable in that role.

When injuries occur (lets be real, they will) he will get another chance to show he can provide offense if he brings a good attitude and plays well in the minors.

Sven is just injured too often to count on. It is brutal but there is no sense to put anymore stock into him. Even if he manages to get going again it will just be a matter of time before he is on the shelf.

The same situation is likely for Sutter.
