1 good season

if he was producing at that pace for 2-3 years, ok, not now

I guess. But IMO it's worth the risk for someone who is showing all the signs.

Keeping the 1st rounder is a gamble as well, even if it's a 8th-12th pick.

I don't get what this means

This is what I'm saying.  I think it's a fine deal to make, but if he walks after 2 years then it's a waste.

I honestly think Colorado would be crazy not to match and either keep him or trade it.  Realistically they'd be able to get more than a 1st/3rd for him.

He can't walk for a while.

He makes every player better.

It's straight forward, it's a picture.

I was tempted to link an entire write up about his corsi, qualcomp, and zs but I really feel it'd be ignored ITT.

Was a decent season, very unproven, holds out for more money than he's worth and demands to be captain because of it? Lmfao let him walk and take the picks imo

He makes everyone around him better

He'll be able to walk when they don't qualify him for 6.5 million

I don't see the Avs matching. Him holding out for so long, not willing to negotiate, wanting to be captain, it just sounds like he would be a cancer in the dressing room.

That said though, it wouldn't surprise me if they were to match just to sit him until a trade becomes available. There are no NTCs in offer sheets, so they would have free will with him.

Imagine how Landeskog feels with this other kid demanding management to strip him of his captaincy. Cancer in thay room for sure
