I like the core the canucks have, and the type of characters they want in the locker room. Players like Hughes, Petey, Bo, Stecher, Boeser etc. seem to be self-motivated to further improve to be better..
add Gaudette to the list, TG acknowledged his efforts over summer and in camp/preseason, he's playing to stay in NHL/get a job in the NHL.
Whereas Goldobin/Virtanen looks good from time to time... but TG said it best.. they're just there... doesn't show any urgency or the desperation to stick around imo.

Also to be fair, i think we need to accept the fact Jake Virtanen is not a power forward despite his size, speed, shot etc. He just doesn't play like one. A lot of the times, he out skates and snipes one. He rarely goes hard to the net and crash and bang for goals.
Seems like Green also wants him to play like a power foward or at least a type of player that is hard to play against.. but if Jake still can't get it through his thick skull, i think Green should try to develop him as Grabner type of player

That pisses me off though. Because he can do it. We have all seem him gather speed and power his way to the front of the net for a scoring chance. It just rarely happens.... for whatever reason. Drives me crazy.

Myers looked awful on that sequence....

Hope that is not the norm.

Hughes standing around also didn't help either, hopefully he learns from that too lol.

Gaudette is playing out of his mind, he wants that damn roster spot! I think TG knows he got the spot

I am torn.

In a way I want him to make the team because he has worked his ass off and is playing well.

On the other hand I want the Canucks to have more room to showcase players they want to trade.

The bottom 6 is a log jam. The ideal situation would be to trade away bottom six players who are older and have higher cap hits.

The Canucks have enough players that can fill in the bottom 6 at a low cost.

another loss after leading the game...
it's preseason and green is just testing lineups but man, sucks we never got to see ferland/petey/boeser play together yet.

i love watching petey reverse hit players, now that he got even more thiccc this season i hope to see more than last season

he also expects a pass for his 1 timer, so he stick lifts just before he gets the pass

but if eriksson is waived he's basically untradable, whoever doesn't mind absorbing his cap hit would probably want him as a warm body.

I think the potential glimmer of hope is he says fuck I don’t wanna ride the ahl bus for 3yrs/9m and he retires and plays in Sweden/khl or mutually terminate and he signs cheap somewhere
