I mean look at the 2015 prospect rankings..it’s not like they were reaching. Scouting is necessary but there’s no science to it. Could have a kid that seems like a sure thing turn out to be dogshit. Happens all the time. Then you have undrafted kids turn into all stars.

I’m just saying it’s dumb to look back on a draft after the fact and say it’s the biggest reason for a lack of success when he was probably excited about the players drafted at the time.

Honestly, I think DeBrusk could still be special and Zboril is finally developed and looks like a solid piece. And if I recall, they got Carlo in round 2 that year. He’s brought up the 2015 draft multiple times and it’s just annoying lol

every team thats a contender relies heavily on their elcs performing and because none of our prospects worked out our god tier core aged out into the oblivion of retirement

I wish we could've drafted better and had some guys come up through the system that didn't cap out at jake debrusk

the one pick they hammered was pasta and they're went really mediocre since then

why is this so annoying that you need to go on for a page about it



it feels like every year we're standing around scratching our heads and doing mental gymnastics to figure out the value in our picks

Tell me, what did you think after that draft? Unless you thought it was shit and that they should’ve drafted x, y, z instead you can’t really say shit. Sure, in hindsight they should’ve drafted x, y, z but they didn’t. They’ve still been close and with a few moves here and a few moves there maybe they win another cup or two.

I’m sure you knew what all the good players taken after their 3 picks were gonna be though right? 🙄
