I highly doubt management wanted to do a tribute for a player that was there just 4 years and disappointed almost the entire time.

It was a 20 second highlight clip, they do that every game on a relevant subject such as former oilers returning , players milestones etc.

As valuable as the outcome of the game.
He's a talented finisher put him with someone who can get him puck he scores. He won't create many goals tho I his own merit. And obviously his whole story in Edmonton was one demanding not earning his role from the get go when he threatened to return to Russia instead of minors.
