Porsche is Volkswagen. They've always been very close relationship, that they're basically the same thing. Porsche family members aren't allowed to run Porsche (They sit on the board though) so they run VW instead. Which is basically the same thing. Ferdinand Piëch, one of if not the greatest automobile executive ever is a Porsche family member and he transformed VW into the juggernaut it is today (In Europe, VW is by far the most popular marque).

The ownership situation is complicated. Long story short, Porsche AG is owned by Volkswagen Group, but Porsche SE owns most of VW and has over 50% voting rights. So the Porsche family owns a controlling share in VW, but the company owns Porsche AG.



What irks me the most is how people pronounce it. It's not "Porsh", it's "Porsha".

Well, most men refer to their cars as females.

I need to come up with a name for mine. Friend suggested "ellie" but I feel like I'd be jumping the gun a bit after still being hyped up from the last of us, lol.
