Barely had it in my hand for a second, it was just incredibly bad timing. The cop was walking by on the sidewalk on my passenger side and I had the phone on the passenger seat (usually it's not there).
If he just watched me before stopping me he would have seen I would have just clicked literally two buttons and put it back down.
I know the rules, I'm fine with paying the ticket. Just that one ticket in 10 years shouldn't result in a license suspension when there are dumb fucks out there who have been in multiple accidents but are still allowed to drive.
Cell phone at a red light on a congested road is hardly that dangerous.
