I talked a bit with a cop recently and specifically asked about the phone in the car deal. They said that if you're literally looking at it for a period of time or have it by your ear you're sol.

I asked because I use mine for music and they said they hardly ever pull people over for hitting skip or something.

However if ur using ur hand without a mounted device, they can ticket you for it.
So don't be surprised if you get that 1 odd cop that tickets you, even the cop said "hardly"
