Subban has no impact at all on ticket prices, since they always flirt pretty tight with the cap anyway. On the end, his contract won't have any impact on how much the Habs pay total for their players.

my point is they value flash and entertainment factor over quality of performance on ice level. when the decided to pay him 9 mil a year for 8 years they werent putting their money solely toward winning hockey games like you think. they were locking up the flashiest most interesting defenseman in the league (an automatic mass ticket seller/marketing tool) to help grow their business.
