A team that finished 15 points below their opponent in the regular season has also played their way into the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Neither team had any chance of making the playoffs if the regular season finished normally and one could argue they only got a chance because they are two teams in big markets.
And Finally, (as already said) we are 10 minutes away from Toronto, Edmonton, or Pittsburgh having a 37.5% chance at getting the first overall pick.
Damn this looks real bush league..... Quite embarrassing really but a part of me enjoys laughing at this shitshow. Many of us took shots at the format before it started and it is now apparent those shots were justified.
Finishing a shorted season of say 75 games and then moving onto a standard 16 team playoffs would have been better.
Not saying that because of how our season ended.
This format has some obvious catering to certain markets and the general trend of parity.
