You have a decent thing going with someone. It's kinda serious but you have a sense both of you are waiting for a reason to get out. You've had a long-time deal with someone that you will take her to your brother's wedding, she will take you to her brother's wedding. Your brother's wedding is first and it's the greatest fucking weekend you have ever had. TWIST: She is your best friend's sister, and you've kinda had a mutual attraction for at least 8 years.

Assume there are really no constraints on the current relationship. You're good friends but the relationship is pretty much gone, almost like you're single. Do you go for the friend's sister, or is that completely off limits?

We don't live in the Middle Ages or Muslim parts of the world. If you're an adult, there's no reason why you can't go after your friends sister without permission. I'd argue there's no reason, ever.
