old furnace?you tried lighting it manually?
my furnace goes out once and a while when it gets crazy windy out had to light it a few times with a bbq lighter lol

i know mine if you light it and turn off bbq lighter right away it goes out
but if you hold the lighter lit for a bit keeping the flame there it warms up somethng possibly thermocup w/e and goes on its own

my dad told my what it was i forget now but i imagine if you got all new shit you wont have this issue for a while :P

u keep the gas valve open up to it by holding down the valve and once thermocouple warms up the light will stay on
