My boss has the roadster and the sedan, they're so sexy.

I wonder how much they add to your hydro bill. That's my only real problem with electric cars, you're at the mercy of how long your charge/car is charging. World would have been a lot different if electric vehicles won out 120 years ago instead of internal combustion engine vehicles.

It's great around here. The parking garage near my work has a free charging station, and it's pretty common around here.

Never seen one before. I guess electric cars are kind of impractical in Canada, given the longer driving distances. Even brake-to-charge hybrids in Canada don't sell well.

Yea... the guy who founded tesla cars, elon musk, is awesome though. Some random guy wrote an article that he didn't think it was practical to drive across the nation because the charge stations were too far apart. In response, Elon started an initiative so that no charging station is further than 100 miles-ish away from any other charging station.
I don't like that it takes 30 minutes to fully charge the car though, seeing how it takes like 2-3 minutes to fully fuel a car. I'm hoping in 2-3 years that technology will be somewhat developed.

Well the technology exists it's just so expensive and the demand isn't there to make it cheaper. I see the appeal of electric cars, but I don't think I'll be switching over.

I guess yeah, I wouldn't want to ever live in Sauga ... unless I lived across from SquareOne that wouldn't be too bad
Oakville isn't so bad, but Burlington is nice in the middle - just hate the cost of living here compared to London

When I went to UWO I lived across the street from my campus and paid only $500/mo total rent was $1500/mo for 3 bedroom

Even still, 20-30 minutes, for free (right?), isn't that bad.
And if you want to pay the same price as gas, you can just swap the battery out in the same amount of time, or less, it takes to refuel a regular car

Right. Range in theory is 220 miles, so figure that's a recharge every 2.5-3 hours. For a long trip, every other recharge would basically be mealtime, so the wait isn't awful. But at this point you have to plan the trip around supercharge stations, once he expands it a bit it will be such that the stations aren't too far out of the way.

Agreed.
For now though, it works out pretty decently considering the circumstances.

I'd definitely consider an electric down the road if Musk can continue to push as well as he's down now.
